1. What can I expect from my first visit to Buffalo Rehab?

During your first visit to Buffalo Rehab Group you will meet with your dedicated Physical Therapist. 2. Will my rehab program cause me any pain or discomfort?

At Buffalo Rehab Group, we believe that the idea of “no pain, no gain” is false. All of our programs are designed to restore limitations. If during your rehab your pain or discomfort from your injury increases, please notify your therapist immediately so appropriate changes can be made to your program.

3. How long should I expect my sessions to last?

Your initial session with your Physical Therapist should last about 60 minutes. Each subsequent visit will last approximately 30-60 minutes.

4. How frequent should I expect to attend Physical Therapy and for how long?

Your doctor will make specific recommendations on the frequency and length of your program. Typically you will attend PT 3 times a week for the first two weeks and then twice a week for the following two weeks. At that time you will be reevaluated to determine if additional therapy is needed.

5. Will I have the same Physical Therapist for each visit?

We believe that the more you meet with your Physical Therapist the better the results. That is why the first time you visit Buffalo Rehab Group you will meet with a dedicated Physical Therapist. Every visit thereafter should be made with the Therapist that evaluated you, when possible.

6. Why is it important to see the same therapist each visit?

The Physical Therapist who evaluates your condition and designs the program will be able to take your continuous feedback and make adjustments to the program as you go along.

7. In the past I have had Doctors speak to me in medical terms. Will the details of my rehab be laid out in simple easy to understand terms?

On your first visit to Buffalo Rehab Group your Physical Therapist will explain your injury, the timetable for your therapy, expectations of the program, and how you can avoid future injuries in terms you can understand.

8. What do I need to bring with me for my visits?

Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to expose your injured area. Your clothing should allow you to move freely. All of our facilities offer locker room facilities.

9. Do I need a physician’s prescription to attend physical therapy?

New York State law requires a prescription to be written for physical therapy. Your physician will prescribe physical therapy in the same manner he will prescribe medication.
